COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Archery is seeking nominations for four positions on the organization's Board of Directors: the Grassroots (JOAD Club) Director, Judge Director, an At Large Director and an Independent position. Nominations are due June 9. Click here to nominate someone for the USA Archery Board of Directors.
These seats, currently occupied by Cindy Bevilacqua, Tom Green, Greg Easton and current Board Chair, Belinda Foxworth are up for re-election at the end of 2015. Director terms are for four years, and Directors, if re-elected, can serve a second term for a maximum of eight years on the Board of Directors.
Directors Bevilacqua, Green, Easton and Foxworth have served the maximum of two terms, and may not run for re-election. In order to be eligible to serve on the USA Archery Board of Directors you must be a U.S. Citizen, over 18 years of age and meet the specific requirements outlined below for each open position.
All applications will be sent to the Nominating and Governance (N&G) Committee and will be reviewed by this committee. In the case of the Grassroots, Judge and At Large positions, the N&G Committee will bring forth a qualified slate of candidates for voting on by eligible members. For the Independent Director position the N&G Committee will appoint the Independent Director that they feel will best serve the needs of USA Archery.
Qualifications for the positions:
Grassroots (JOAD Club) Director: The Grassroots Directors will come from nominations made by Registered Clubs of USA Archery who are in good standing. All current registered Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Clubs in good standing as of 60 days prior to the election date may vote for their respective Grassroots Director.
Judge Director: The Judge Director will come from Judge members of USA Archery who are in good standing. All current USA Archery Judge members (as defined in Section 5.1 of the Bylaws) in good standing and who have selected the "judge" voting category as of 60 days prior to the election may vote for the Judge Director.
At Large Director: The At Large Director will come from members of USA Archery in good standing. Those members who have selected the At Large voting category as of 60 days prior to the election date, who are entitled to vote but who are not eligible to vote for a Director in any other Director category (all members other than Coach members, Judge members, Registered Club members, Affiliated Organization members, and Athlete members as defined in Section 5.1 of the Bylaws) may vote for the At Large Director.
Independent Director: Each "Independent Director" shall be determined to have no material relationship with USA Archery, either directly or through an organization that has a material relationship with USA Archery. A relationship is "material" if, in the judgment of the N&G Committee, it could interfere with the Director's independent judgment.
