COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Thanks to generous contributions from the Easton Foundations, USA Archery is excited to announce Collegiate Archery Program Grant Recipients for 2017. The Collegiate Archery Program continues to grow, and we were thrilled to see hundreds of archers from over 50 colleges and universities across the nation compete at our National Outdoor Collegiate Championships last month. As we continue to work to grow the Collegiate Program, USA Archery is proud to be able to support 26 programs this year.
Collegiate Archery Programs in good standing can request grant funds for items such as athlete and coach travel, target butts, stands, archery equipment, general supplies, and coaching certifications to support club, athlete and coach development. The purpose of these grants is to support long term program development.

Georgia Bulldog Archery President, Rachel Luoma shared: "The grant we received will be used to purchase equipment. This past year, which was our first year as an archery club on UGA's campus with around a dozen members, we borrowed all our equipment from a local coach, and so we are very grateful to be able to purchase our own equipment for the coming years. Right now, we have several novice archers, but we hope to draw more advanced archers as well and build a competitive team to represent our university at collegiate events."
On behalf of the UC Merced Archery Team, Timothy Jeung commented: "This grant will help provide better archery and field equipment for the growing student population and the expanding UC Merced Archery Team. In particular, the equipment that we will purchase for our team will ensure better safety for our fellow students and help the newer archers compete in archery tournaments with better starting equipment provided by the grant. The grant will also provide an improved environment for those pursuing to perfect their archery skills. Overall, it will aid in leading a defined collegiate archery community in California's Central Valley due to UC Merced having one of the few collegiate archery programs in the area."
