FOLEY, Alabama - USA Archery's second annual U.S. National 3D Collegiate Championships returned to Foley, Alabama this past weekend. Hosted with the Archery Shooters Association, the competition featured individual competition at targets of known and unknown distances, a team shoot mixer, a mixed team fun shootdown with a special low-country shrimp boil BBQ and award ceremony and competitive team and mixed team rounds.
With the inclusion of US Collegiate Archery schools, the event reached an impressive 335 archers competing from more than 30 schools as far away as Arizona, New York and Michigan, more than tripling participation from last year.
In the overall team championship awards, Emmanuel College finished third behind Union College and Overall National Team Champions - the University of the Cumberlands.
Kris Strebeck, Head Coach for the University of the Cumberlands commented: "Overall this was a great event. The staff and facilities were top of the line. I am so proud of my team's performance and the competitive spirit and sportsmanship they showed all weekend."
