COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - The results are in and new committee members have officially been named to USA Archery's Collegiate Archery Program and JOAD Committees! These committee makes recommendations regarding relevant program and event administration to USA Archery Staff. Regional representatives also serve as Regional Coordinators for the programs, while the Athlete Representatives represent the student?athlete and youth archery populations.
These membership-elected committees are selected after a nomination process where clubs are eligible to submit one nomination, and ultimately one vote, per category that applies to their region. Committee members serve two-year terms with a maximum of three consecutive terms allowed.
For the Collegiate Committee, Glen Bennett (Michigan State University) was re-elected to the north region representative seat. UC San Diego's Jason Tong, who was serving as the athlete rep, was elected to the west region representative seat for 2018.
New this year, instead of one athlete representative position, there are now two: the south and east athlete rep and north and west athlete rep. Anna Miscione (James Madison University) and Geun Woo Kim (Claremont McKenna College) were voted to each position respectively.
Rodney Estrada (Emmanuel College) and E.G. Le Bre (MIT, Wellesley, Brandeis University) will continue in their roles as south and east region representatives as regions are staggered on voting for continuity purposes.
For the JOAD Committee, Amy Francka (Springfield, Missouri) of the Greene County Park Board was elected as the north region representative and George "Woody" Walters (San Leandro, California) of Ohlone JOAD Club as the west region representative. Compound Junior Dream Team athlete and 2015 Jack Kelley Fair Play Award winner Miles Gould was elected as the athlete representative. Rodney Estrada and Andy Neville will remain in their respective positions as the south and east representatives.
Committee members play a vital role in USA Archery's organization and USA Archery staff appreciates all who were involved in running and the election process. We appreciate you sharing your voice on matters that you care about and are looking forward to a great year ahead. For more information on USA Archery committees, click here.
