The USAA has awarded the 29th annual JOAD National Outdoor Championships to the Des Moines Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Club in Des Moines, Iowa. "The Des Moines JOAD Club and the City of Des Moines, Iowa are pleased to have the 29th Annual JOAD National Outdoor Championships come to Des Moines", says Scott Leek, Tournament Director and President of the Des Moines JOAD Club. "The City of Des Moines is very interest in promoting and developing diversity of sports, and archery totally fits within their plan."
The dates of the 29th Annual JOAD National Outdoor Championships will be June 24 - 27, 2010.
Three hundred USA Archery youth archers are expected to compete in divisions that range in age from 8 to18 years of age. Competition takes place in both Recurve and Compound disciplines at distances that range from 20m to 90m. The Outdoor JOAD Championships determines the JOAD Outdoor National Champion and is a Junior United States Archery Team Qualifier. Participants must be a member of a JOAD Club and a member of USA Archery.
