Who Was Ann Hoyt?
Wife, huntress, keen business-women and a World Champion Archer, Ann Hoyt was the first person, man or woman, to have held a national and international championships in two different archery disciplines, target freestyle and field barebow.
Ann was the first woman to be inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame in 1972. She was a five-time NAA National Champion, and a Maurice Thompson Medal of Honor recipient. Ann's life passion was archery and she believed in learning how to shoot archery the correct way. The basic fundamentals and drive to win were important to Ann. She believed the JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program provided a perfect environment for young archers to develop their skills and perfect them so that one day they could be champions.

The essence of archery is not in winning a tournament but in the enjoyment of participating and of sharing the spirit of sportsmanship and fellowship as manifested by the archers. Ann passed away in 2008. To continue her work, she left a generous endowment to be used for the further development of JOAD, the Junior Olympic Archery Development program.
In appreciation and recognition, USA Archery has created the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund to thank Ann for all she has done for the sport and to encourage others to support the cause for which Ann had so much passion. The Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund provides sustainable, long-term support to JOAD, the Junior Olympic Archery Development Program. The fund is managed by the National Archery Association Foundation and oversight is provided by the NAA Foundation Board. Contribution checks for the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund should be made out to the NAA Foundation with a note indicating they are to be put into the Ann Hoyt Trust account.
