SÃO PAULO, Brazil – Tracy Otto and Jason Tabansky will return as double gold medalists from the 2024 Para Pan American Championships.
The W1 archers followed up their mixed team success on Friday with individual honors on Saturday. For Tabansky, this is a repeat of the feat achieved two years ago in Santiago, Chile.
Otto took the gold medal match against Juliana Cristin Ferreira Da Silva by 108 points to 60. For Tabansky, it was a little less straightforward. He took on 2022 bronze medalist Eugenio Santana Franco and trailed through two ends.
A four-point difference in the third end handed the initiative to Tabansky, who remained solid to the finish for a 131-127 victory.
The six-strong USA team departs Sao Paulo with three golds and one silver, as the recurve women of Candice Caesar and Karen Sternfeld took second spot on Friday.
