Certification Renewal

A summary of each level recertification requirements is listed below.

Renewal forms are located on the right.

Coaches certified as Level 3 or Level 4 prior to 2009, please scroll to the bottom of the page.

Attention:

All renewals, except non-member Level 1(Basic), require a background screeniing.  Please use SSCI form on the right.  

If you are a Level 1(Basic) Instructor and want insurance you must pass a Background screening and be a member of USA Archery.

USAA Certification Renewal Summary

LEVEL 1 (formerly BASIC) INSTRUCTOR 

Reneal period: Three years. 

Renewal Fee: $30.00  

Renewal Requirements: 

  • Teach an archery course any time during your certification period;  or re-take Level 1 (Basic) Instructor course; or take Level 1 Re-Certification Online course (available March 2012).

If you would like to have insurance coverage as a Level 1v (Basic) Instructor, just add a USAA membership and complete a background screening.

 LEVEL 2 (formerly INTERMEDIATE) INSTRUCTOR 

Renewal period: Three years.  

Renewal Fee: $30.00

Renewal Requirements:  

  • Provide evidence of archery participation through camps, after school programs, JOAD, or continuing education courses. 
  • Organization membership.  
  • Background re-check.

LEVEL 3-NTS (formerly COMMUNITY) COACH

Renewal period:  Three years.

Renewal Fee: $30.00. 

Renewal Requirements: 

  • Provide evidence of archery leadership /participation through camps, after school programs or continuing education courses. 
  • Organization member. 
  • Background re-check.

LEVEL 4- NTS (formerly REGIONAL) COACH

Renewal period: Three years.  

Renewal Fee: $30.00

Renewal Requirements:  

  • Provide evidence of work in archery through camps, teaching introductory level archery courses and attending continuing coaching education courses.  
  • Organization member.  
  • Background re-check.

 

COACH TRAINER (formerly COMMUNITY COACH COURSE LEADER)

Renewal period: Three years.  

Renewal Fee: $30.00. 

Renewal Requirement: 

  • Teach or team-teach a Community Coach course prior to expiration.  
  • USAA member.  
  • Background re-check.

 

LEVEL 5- NTS (formerly ELITE) COACH

Renewal period: Three years.  

Renewal Fee: $30.00.  

Renewal Requirements:  currently under revision.

Pre-2009 LEVEL 3 and LEVEL 4

Level 3 and 4 Coaches without the NTS designation may not become certified as Coach Trainers, nor can they increase their level of certification, without completing a new Level 3-NTS or Level 4-NTS Coach Course or by completing an NTS module. They also are not eligible for USA Archery camp or team
