USA ARCHERY COACH
CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
BASIC INSTRUCTOR
Audience: Camp instructors, Girl/Boy Scouts, 4-H etc.
Purpose: Introduce how to teach archery to a new instructor, most likely never shot before. Course focuses on safety, range set-up, basic equipment setup and repair and teaching the basic steps of shooting.
Length of Course: 8-12 hours
Prerequisite: minimum age: 15
Administration: NADA
Course Cost: $20.00 for materials, class fee varies depending on instructor
Renewal period: Three years
Recertification Fee: $15.00
Recertification Requirement: TBD
INTERMEDIATE INSTRUCTOR
Audience: Instructors with little or no archery experience who will be working in a more established archery program i.e. JOAD, ASAP, Parks/Recreation, College Archery Program (CAP)
Purpose: Introduce basic shooting steps, safety, range set-up; equipment setup and repair, fitting equipment to an archer, how to teach archery and how to teach a Basic Instructor Course.
Length of Course: 16-20 hours

Renewal period: Four years

COMMUNITY COACH
Audience: Instructors looking to advance into a coaching and athlete development role.
Purpose: Introduce coaching philosophy, training cycles/plans, competition preparation, mental aspects, equipment, B.E.S.T. training.
Length of Course: 20-24 hours

- Must have been:
1. An Intermediate Instructor for one year - or
2. Pass an exam to ‘test out' of the Intermediate level and verify three years experience in an archery instructor capacity.

Course Cost: $250.00/per person and includes materials
Renewal period: One year
Recertification Fee: $25.00
Recertification Requirement: Attend one Recertification Seminar within a two year period.
REGIONAL COACH
Audience: Coaches looking to advance their coaching skills and become eligible for USA Archery national camps and team appointed positions.
Purpose: Incorporation of sports science, psychology, nutrition, and biomechanics and advanced B.E.S.T. training into coaching philosophy.
Length of Course: One week

Course Cost: $450.00/per person and includes materials

Recertification Requirement: Attend a Recertification Seminar or Junior Dream Team Camp
COMMUNITY COACH COURSE LEADER (CCL)
Audience: Regional or Elite coaches who want to be certified to teach Community Coach course.
Purpose: Identify a pool of certified coaches who want to teach the Community Coach course.
Length of Course: There are 3 routes to CCL certification-
1.) Successful completion of 2-day CCL course. 2.) Subject matter presentation within Regional Coach course work. 3.) Team-teach a Community Coach course with another CCL.

- Regional or Elite coach certification
- ASEP Coaching Principles certification
Administration: USA Archery
Course Cost: Based on options above-
1.) $200 for 2-day CCL course. 2.) Cost of CCL materials packet. 3.) Cost of CCL materials packet.

Recertification Fee: $25.00
Recertification Requirement: Teach or team-teach a Community Coach course prior to expiration.
Audience: Coaches looking to advance their coaching skills.
Purpose: To achieve Elite Coach status by demonstrating a strong understanding of the National Training Program, demonstrate effective interaction with athletes and have an established and successful archery program that is producing top athletes.
Length of Course: N/A - Pass evaluation by National Head Coach
Prerequisites:
1. Regional coach certification for 2 years
2. Current USAA membership
3. ASEP Coaching Principles certification
4. Have received training and practical supervision in the National Training System.

6. Successfully coaching archers, to one or more of the following levels:
a. JOAD National podium placement
b. College National podium placement
c. Jr. USAT top 10 ranking
d. Sr. USAT top 10 ranking
e. Sr. or Jr. Nationals podium placement
f. Olympic, World or International team member
Choose one of two routes
Route 1
- 2 Camps -Junior Dream Team Camps (or equivalent)
- 1 Camp - Designated Team Leader.
Route 2
- 2-4 week apprenticeship at the OTC-CV with National Head Coach - fall months only.

Recertification Fee: $25.00
Recertification Requirement: Attend a Recertification Seminar or Junior Dream Team Camp AND must help run a grassroots or Paralympic camp.
MASTER COACH
- Honorary designation recognizing contributions to the sport.
- To re-enter team staff selection eligibility pool must complete at a minimum the Regional Coach requirements.
- Recommended they complete Elite Coach requirements.
