PERSONAL
Started shooting archery at the age of nine after her father bought her and her siblings compound bows from Wal-Mart for Christmas...the Nichols family would shoot in the evenings in their backyard as a family activity they could all do together...that same year, they were introduced to the local Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Club..after that, they started traveling to local and then national tournaments as a family...when Jennifer was 17, her family drove down to the Precision Shooting Equipment (PSE) manufacturing plant in Tucson, Ariz., to train with their master coach, Alexander Kirillov...Alexander became the personal coach of Jennifer and her younger sister, Amanda, and that's when they decided to become full-time archers...Jennifer and Amanda have become best friends through traveling and training together, and they push each other in practice and always challenge and encourage each other...enjoys several forms of dance, including Ballet, Tap, Irish Step Dance, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical Jazz, Modern and Pointe...also enjoys reading, camping, hiking, fishing, rifle shooting, dancing and fly tying.
Most memorable career experience: Competing in Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games...her first match commenced the entire archery competition and she was the first athlete to walk onto the field in the historic Panathinaiko Stadium to contend in an Olympic competition since the last time the Games were held in Athens in 1896...her entire family was on hand in Athens watching as she competed and placed ninth.
Long-term goals: Jennifer and her younger sister, Amanda, not only share the dream to make the 2008 Olympic Team, but also hope to medal, as well. Jennifer also dreams to someday emulate her mother in being a homemaker "whose foremost dedication is to her Lord and to her family."
Greatest influences: Jesus Christ, her family and especially her sister Amanda.
