Chickasaw Council, BSA Level 2 Practical- James

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION TO OBTAIN THE US ARCHERY LEVEL 2 ARCHERY CERTIFICATION FOR BSA CHICKASAW COUNCIL

This Practical Level 2 class will be taught by Jimmie James, a US Archery Level 3 Coach and Instructor Trainer. Previous archery experience or Level 1 is not required for Level 2 course participants. 

The USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification online class (Course Information and Registration) includes the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course with an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development and events. Successful completion of the US Archery Level 2 Course offers all US Archery Level 1 benefits as well as eligibility to take the Instructor Trainer Certification Course, qualifications for Lead Instructor for advanced archery programs as well as USA Archery insurance coverage for qualified programs.

Students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification online course and register and complete the "in-person" USA Archery Level 2 Instructor practical course.  The Level 2 Instructor certification is valid for three years and may be renewed online with USA Archery. 

To receive final credit for the US Archery Level 2 course, newly qualified Level 2 instructors must have successfully completed the following:  Current U.S. Center for SafeSport training (free), Current USA Archery Background Screening ($35 for two years) and a Current USA Archery ($70 annually) or National Field Archery Association membership.

The US Archery Level 2 course will be taught in two sequential parts:

A four-hour, USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Online Course (completed prior to the Practical); and an eight hour “in-person” Practical portion reserved through USA Archery (See links below). The Practical course is for students who have completed their USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Online Course. Upon successful completion of the online course, students canthen register for this in-person Practical Course.
